About Europa Scout
After years of playing football at competitive levels, Tobias retired at the age of 35 and ventured into business. However, their path led them back to the sport, culminating in obtaining a FIFA and UEFA scouting designation and collaborating with Transfermarkt, with a focus scouting on players under 21 with French heritage. The success in discovering talented players has extended to those who have trained and played at Clairefontaine in France, to MLS in North America.
Tobias Bichin - Founder
Tobias Bichin, known throughout the football community simply as “Bichin,” built his reputation on a rare blend of physical presence, tactical awareness, and uncompromising competitiveness. As a midfielder, he played with an edge—strong in the tackle, fearless in duels, and constantly disrupting the opposition’s rhythm. Yet behind the intensity was a sharp football mind, allowing him to control matches as much with intelligence as with grit.
His early playing years included leading the Marpole Strikers to a championship in 1993 and later becoming a standout with the Richmond Rangers in the Premier League, earning multiple All-Star selections. In 2003, he capped off a remarkable season by being named MVP, dedicating the award to his late father—a moment that remains one of the most meaningful of his career.
Bichin’s ability was recognized internationally as well. While representing the United States at the 1994 U19 World Cup, he earned MVP honours, marking a defining milestone in his youth career. His passion for development eventually led him into mentorship, where he recently received the SoCal Player Development Award for his work with U21 athletes.
His versatility extended into 7-a-side and futsal, where he collected multiple Gold Cup titles, showing the same competitiveness and adaptability that defined his 11-a-side career.
Today, Tobias brings that same commitment and experience to coaching and scouting. He is a UEFA B licensed coach, international scout, and media contributor, recognized by USA Soccer for his leadership in youth development and his strong scouting ethics. His influence spans North America and Europe, where he has supported academies, helped identify emerging talent, and contributed to long-term development programs within MLS and USL pathways.
